WHAT WE WANT TO ACHIEVE

The African Potential Foundation is geared to supporting Africa in better preparing its citizens to navigate the world of work. We believe that this is vital to boosting economic growth and fulfilling African potential. Economic growth alone is insufficient to address inequality and job insecurity. Thus our Foundation supports investments in individuals who have the potential to engage in the knowledge economy through the opportunities we provide. We offer a tailored CSR partnership to our donor organisations. Through carefully profiling and selecting talented individuals and appropriate partner projects within the ambit of the Tax Exemption Unit (TEU) guidelines, and in which our partners can invest.   While awaiting our PBO status, we have partnered with the Wits Foundation to act as a conduit for donations. As a registered Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) they can provide a section 18A certificate, entitling our donors to an income tax deduction for donations.

Through our fellowship programme, our foundation provides a platform for young African thought leaders to harness their potential by allowing them to mindfully engaging in work that they are truly passionate about. In doing so, we allow for the creation of meaningful connections between science and communities.

Through harnessing potential within areas of greatest need, and providing not only funding support, but teaching basic fiscal administration alongside tailored mentorship and coaching support, we enable a new generation of innovative, flexible, resilient and caring leaders. Our leaders will be intimately connected with the work that they do, having created collaborative networks, meaningful connections, and through being offered a platform for unorthodox combinations of experiences to grow them towards finding unique solutions to real world problems
