75% of people in South Africa use commuter taxis. This equates to 15 MILLION commuters daily on 250,000 vehicles.
LET’S USE THE PANDEMIC TO MAKE THEM SAFE!
Working with an incredible team of researchers, public health specialists, scientists, community members, corporates, creatives & the commuter taxi industry, we are developing a set of infectious disease prevention interventions that will have
WORLD CLASS IMPACT through:
- Interrupt onward transmission of multiple infectious diseases (COVID-19, TB, influenza, etc.)
- Provide relevant public health information by making internet accessible for 15 million daily commuters
- Reduce the burden of disease on the health system, saving lives and money,
- Promotes micro-enterprise development (Supplier & Enterprise Development points)
- Sustains itself through B-BBEE investment and passive revenue generation (that will be ploughed straight back into marginalised communities)
- Potentially export to other African countries in reducing the burden of disease across Africa
